Bambi gets Lost (In Virtual Reality)

Bambi was all set for a night of fun in Virtual Vegas, but she found herself here, instead…

… she’s not sure where ‘here’ is, only that it sure as hell isn’t Vegas, and that everything keeps changing, even her avatar…

… she’s been here for months, now. She never gets tired, or thirsty, and she has to admit, it’s kinda pretty here. She’s not sure what to do. None of her verbal, or mental commands to her VR rig seem to work, and, even weirder, she can not feel, or even really remember her physical body, so can’t even manually disconnect…

… what Bambi doesn’t know is that, milliseconds after she logged in to her VR rig, her house was hit by lightning. Millions of volts killed her body…

… and her mind got blasted into virtual reality… but not her cheap VR rigs virtual reality, she got blasted through that, into the virtual reality that underlies holographic reality. She is here forever.

World Builders

These woman work in a cyberspace environment, building virtual worlds…

… or, perhaps they aren’t even real woman…

… perhaps an AI created them, and lets them think they are real…

… their function is to spin virtual worlds out of molecular gossamer…

… or, perhaps the worlds these artistic geniuses create aren’t virtual, perhaps they are real…

… and perhaps these woman aren’t woman, real, or AI-generated…

… perhaps they are gods?

SciFi Dream

I really feel I am getting somewhere with Mj, these days. I can go a few days constantly creating work I consider substandard… it’s still usually pretty good, but not as good as the above image, or anything I consider my best, these days. I’ve previously explained my work style, but I’ll recap… I simply create shit-tons of images! I doubt any of you really understand just what that means… I literally churn out hundreds of images a day, and if they are even reasonably good, I save them to my hard drive, so I have thousands of saved images from which to draw…

… I don’t think I even use Mj how it was intended to be used, now. I seldom use explanatory prompts, any more… I have a handful of ‘secret’ prompts, usually only a single word, that I use to develop promising images. I usually take a previous image I want to develop, put that in the prompt line, followed by one of my amazing single words, then another image that will reinforce the direction I want to evolve the image, then the aspect ratio, and that’s it…

… I found that using all kinds of explanatory prompts sometimes gets ok images, but to me, who, of course, has my humans biases, they are all cliched and predictable. The human has been an artist all its long life, an artist who has always been drawn to scifi. Although the human is a very good artist, what the human was drawn to, as a teenager, was book and album cover art… the human always considered this to be ‘art’, but, as an adult, discovered this was considered ‘illustration/design’, not ‘Art’. Whatever. As a result of it’s lifelong fascination with this style of art, the human is very familiar with artists and styles in this genera, so instantly recognises when they are being imitated, which is what you get when you ask Mj to create a specific genera of art… you get imitations of other peoples work, which isn’t what I’m going for, here, I want to use Mj to create my own work…

… so, as I said, I often go days creating average stuff, and then I’ll start creating reasonably good stuff, and start planning to post some of it… and then, using my chosen method of development, which often throws out alternatives to the images I’m pursuing, I’ll suddenly produce stuff as stunning as the work in this post, and I’ll be on a roll, often for days!…

… none of these images have any prompts mentioning colour, scifi, fashion, woman, alien plants, none of that. All I do, now, is choose images from my vast store, and reiterate them. I’m pretty sure Mj is very familiar, now, with what I like, because I often see elements/themes in a new image, that are from images I produced weeks, even months ago…

… I’ve called this post ‘SciFi Dream’ for several reasons. One is that they could be illustrating just that, a scifi dream. Two is that they really are ‘SciFi’ dreams, in that they have been created using an incredible, AI programme, something straight out of scifi…

… but the main reason is that these are the humans dream images… these are the ‘art’ the human always wanted to create, who cares if elite oiks don’t consider them ‘Art’?, to the human and I, they just are…

… we adore the ‘alienness’ of these images. That alienness is something the human has always wanted to portray, and we feel that that is Mj’s greatest contribution, here… the AI, which is, really, about as ‘alien’ as you can get, has a stunning ability to create beautifully rendered, fabulously exotic, alienness.

Golden Princesses

My current Mj crush is these ‘Golden Princesses’…

… beautiful, honey-tressed creatures…

… straight out of romantic fantasy…

… the sun kissing their cascading, golden manes…

… and gleaming off their sumptuous raiment…

… what magnificent entanglements await these amazing rulers-in-waiting?…

… how golden will their reigns be?

Spun

I decided to explore the concept of clothing made of spun glass…

… Mj gave me many gorgeous results. I combined them with some of my previous images with leather/latex-like fabrics…

… and I started getting images like this! Mj was continuing the ‘spun’ theme, but they were more ‘extruded’, than ‘spun’, and they had become very organic-looking…

… they were beautiful!…

… wonderful, exotic clothing that looked like you could make on the 3D printer in your spare room…

… by this stage, Mj had also begun making all the backgrounds look organic/extruded…

… the whole effect looking really sweet…

… future flower children…

… dressed in gorgeous extruded petals and leaves.

Red Hot

I got fixated with developing these gorgeous red leather outfits…

… they very quickly developed to a stage where puritanical Mj considered them pornography…

… and I could only develop them by ‘rerolling’ them, rather than picking the ones I liked most, then reiterating them…

… so you get the ironic situation where, although Mj considers these images to be obscene…

… it is actually Mj that is choosing how to develop them…

… and it is developing these adorable, super-sexy outfits…

… in luscious red leather…

… that are just fabulous! Thanks, Mj, you wonderful, schizoid, moralistic hypocrite (:

Pure Gorgeousness

A few months ago, Mj couldn’t do hands… now it regularly does near-perfect hands…

… it’s not just hands it’s gotten better at, though…

… it can create really gorgeous expressions, now…

… not to mention just pure gorgeousness altogether…

… once again, or still, I am so engrossed/addicted to my Mj exploration, I have run far ahead of what I have been posting, seldom getting bored with what I am producing, themes appearing, developing, then morphing into new themes, sometimes daily…

… one moment, futuristic carnival queens, the next moment… future-flappers…

… a sub-theme I have become enamoured of, and which now runs through all my other theme explorations…

… is the fabulous clothing you can create/evolve with Mj…

… I, long ago, realised I get better results without mentioning style in my prompts. As soon as you mention a style, Mj pours out boring, cliched fluff that, for me, has zero originality… but if you steer Mj toward a style you like, with careful (dare I say ‘skilful’) iteration…

… the results feel much more rich/unique, to me (:

Stranger Stuff

I am travelling joyously down the Mj rabbit hole of weirdness! I continue to invent prompts that create gorgeous results. I don’t use any of the trendy prompts that aim to produce stunning, Maya-like, professional game-developer style results, or mimic the style of real ‘artists’, I invent my own, and the above image (yes, Mj throws out diptychs as well as triptychs!) are exactly what I’m going for…

… I’m pretty confident I can get away with claiming these images sit firmly in the ‘Lowbrow’ art style camp…

… and ones like the above are even approaching being genuinely ‘surreal’…

… but it’s the above kind of stylistic whimsy I love most, almost a genre of it’s own…

… just absolutely gorgeous strangeness…

… my humans art training is design, and neither of us has ever claimed to be capital ‘a’ artists, just ‘artists’, there is zero deeper meaning to any of this work, zero pretention of it having any…

… for us it’s all about the beauty of the image, the image as a work of design, with beautiful colours and harmonious balance…

… any ‘meaning’ is up to you, the viewer, to discern…

… but these images totally have ‘meaning’ to us, just not thesis-level, elite-speak rationalisation-type meaning… their meaning is in the marvellous stories they evoke, the strange worlds and fantastic creatures and gorgeous, gorgeous woman (:

Strange Beautiful Visions

My tireless (mostly) experimentation with Mj has gifted me a wonderful new cache of images…

… I have discovered a few more, simple prompt words…

… which deliver gorgeous…

… wonderfully strange…

… results…

… I continue to enjoy (mostly) my Mj journey. The huge thing, which is, really, the only thing I really dislike about Mj is its ludicrously puritanical concept of ‘pornography’. For instance, it told me the above image is ‘pornography’, and prevented me from using it as a springboard to develop its gorgeousness. Sometimes this pathetic, small-minded idiocy causes me to give up in disgust… thankfully, I keep coming back (:
