Little World

LW

Seraphim visited ‘Little World‘, today. Little World has several distinct areas…

LW2

… a beach area, with a horizon of glittering sky-scrapers…

LW3

… a very nice grunge/neon area…

LW4

… the avi on the bus-stop roof just stood and watched Seraphim, turning to follow her as she passed. Seri didn’t bother saying ‘hi’… sometimes, she’s just not in the mood, and, of course, the other avi never said a word…

LW5

… the neon/grunge area is very pretty. Once you traverse that, there is…

LW6

… gorgeously textured urban architecture…

LW7

… Seri has seen these buildings in other builds, but they still look beautiful, here…

LW8

… she spent a good hour, here, and took 173 photos. Little World would make a wonderful set for an urban story, even one with a scifi element, given the neon strip and the glittering cityscape on the horizon.

Lost Town

LostTown09072018_0001

Today, Seraphim visited Lost Town-La Citta’ Perduta. She hasn’t been here for a long time, possibly years. When she first visited here, she saw it as the setting for the kind of trendy, dull SL ‘art’ photos she has no interest in, and does not do. Trendy SL artists have zero interest in Seraphim’s photography. Seraphim, whose human has a degree with honours in Computer Graphic Design, knows her photography is at LEAST as good as theirs, but the SL ‘artists’ convince the SL punters that theirs is the ‘real’ art. On Seraphim’s  previous visits to this place, she wrote it off as a backdrop for trendy wanker photography. It was the textures/lighting of the above image she first saw, here, so she never really looked any further…

LostTown09072018_0002

… she totally missed all this aurora-type lighting…

LostTown09072018_0003

… and crisp background elements…

LostTown09072018_0004

… she has to admit, she shouldn’t have written the place off, just because she loathes what passes for ‘art’ photography in SL…

LostTown09072018_0005

… she thinks she got some nice shots.

Russia

Russia

Today, Seraphim visited Russia

Russia2

… she found a beautiful sim straight out of her human’s dreams…

Russia3a

… not because the human has ever been to Russia, but because the human often dreams about these kinds of wonderful, empty, earlier-time, nostalgic streets…

Russia4

… there are gorgeous perspective lines everywhere…

Russia5a

… wonderful old cars and communist-style architecture…

Russia6

… which includes gorgeous interiors…

Russia7

… there are derelict vehicular hulks everywhere…

Russia8

… Seri had to climb a lot of fences to get these shots. She worried about being sprung by zealous Russian thugs… worried, not because she was scared, but because she’s over killing mortals, and dreaded having to slaughter dozens of mindless soldier puppets… just as she would in any American facility.

Pandume at Last Drop

PanniAtLastDrop

Seraphim took Pandume to visit her Last Drop Cafe installation, today…

PanniAtLastDrop2

… she hadn’t told Pandume that Pandume’s portrait was on the wall. Pandume was delighted…

PanniAtLastDrop3

… Pandume also liked how cosy Seraphim had made the cafe, particularly liking the worn old couch…

PanniAtLastDrop4

… this made Seri happy, because she had gone for a worn, cosy feel to the place…

PanniAtLastDrop5

… the two friends curled up on the couch…

PanniAtLastDrop6

… and chatted beneath the beneficent gaze of Pandume’s portrait.

Sol Existence

SolEx

Seraphim went back to Sol Existence, this morning. She visited here about 18 months ago, but didn’t really spend a lot of time here. She remembered it’s windswept, island-in-the-sea aspect, so she rugged up in thick wool before she went…

SolEx2

… she found these guys pretty cute…

SolEx3

… but these stone buildings just blow her mind…

SolEx4

… especially this one…

SolEx5

… the detail and texturing are exquisite…

SolEx6

… some of the most beautifully made buildings she’s ever seen in SL…

SolEx7

… the sim builder/s had seen fit to park a huge, cheesy balloon right next to the far side of this gorgeous building, which ruled out any decent shot from that angle, and the one from this angle took a fair bit of manoeuvring in order to exclude the balloon’s cartoonish bulk… but Seri is pleased with the result.

85 Levels

85

Seraphim visited the ‘100 Levels’ project, today, to see how it’s going… there are now 85! These are her faves from the newest ones. She really likes the one above… it’s the only upside down one, such a cool concept… even the wall with the door is upside down, though she didn’t think to see how that worked at the back, with the stairs… she suspects it didn’t…

85a

… this one made her laugh out loud… if it has any specific meaning, she’s not sure what it is, but it’s delightful, anyway…

85a1

… this one, also, made her laugh… if you follow the absurdity of highbrow ‘art’, you’ll know all about this particular ‘artwork’… Seraphim loves the intelligence of seeing it re-purposed in this project…

85a1a

… this one, and the one below, are just gorgeous, richly textured whimsy…

85a1a1

… there are so many clever people in SL (:

Last Drop Cafe Project

LD

Seraphim’s friend, Veyot, who is always working on some new, interesting project, asked Seri if she’d be interested in contributing to her most recent project. She (or she and some friends, Seri’s not too clear on that bit…) has purchased several little plots of roadside land around SL, and placed ‘Last Drop Cafe’ buildings on them. Veyot wondered if Seraphim might want to decorate one of them, any way she wanted to…

LD2

… of course, Seri said ‘sounds like fun!’ The one Seri got is beside the road in Wyrd. She got this empty little building to decorate, like a blank canvas. She’s never made a ‘cafe’, before, but was pretty sure she should start…

LD3

… with an assortment of mouth-watering munchies, for the hungry/weary SL traveller…

LD4

… and some cosy, well-worn seating, with mellow lighting, and some soothingly rich floor coverings…

LD5

… and definitely something beautiful to look at… starting with her current favourite portrait of the lovely Pandume…

LD6

… then one of the vista’s she took from the balcony of her Hangars Liquides apartment…

LD7

… and, finally, the prettiest little kitty she’s ever met, her little, lost, cat-girl, Zoey… these three images, purely by coincidence, go 2020, 2019, and 2018…

LD8

… Seri left it at that for the night, then came back this morning, to put the finishing touches to her little production. Her friend ‘JJ’ joined her for a few minutes, so they could catch up while Seri pottered…

LD9

… after ‘JJ’ had left, Seri did some more ‘ambience testing’…

LD10

… and decided that any weary traveler probably really needed to play ‘Unicorn Attack!’, while they digested their coffee and cake…

LD11

… Seri enjoyed this little project (:

Otter Lake

OtterLake

Seraphim decided to check out Otter Lake, this morning. She found a very North American/European-feeling environment of beautiful, rich blues and greens, with a gorgeous, soft, cloudy/hazy sky, creating a lovely, soft light…

OtterLake2

… the landing point was a commercial harbour. Everywhere there were great props for clever photographs, lots of wonderful angles and rich, dark hues…

OtterLake3

… but it was the wilderness area that Seri really liked. Lots and lots of beautiful, sparkling water-filled vistas, with pretty islands…

OtterLake4

… lush plant/tree growth everywhere…

OtterLake5

… with gorgeous explosions of floral colour dotted about, and many more wonderful photo props…

OtterLake6

… and many beautiful light rays in which to pose…

OtterLake7

… Seri didn’t manage to find a lake filled with otters, she got a bit lost, then some guy started stalking her, and getting in her shots, so she went home, satisfied she had enough stunning images for at least this post. Otter Lake is really gorgeous, well worth a look (:

Shadow Syndicate

ShadowSyndicate

If you know Seri, you’ll have noticed she has an addictive personality… she locks onto things, and obsesses over them, till something else attracts her attention… and, currently, it’s arcade games…

ShadowSyndicate2

… she just acquired another one for her game corner. Unlike the previous two, this one isn’t posable… but, it makes up for that by being, actually, playable! It’s called Shadow Syndicate, and is made by Tokugawa Heavy Industries, a creator who, ironically, is the creator of one of Seri’s favourite jackets, and, probably, her all-time favourite glasses,  but, who generally makes scifi-techy stuff…

ShadowSyndicate3

… the game is a homage to 80’s video games and, as someone whose human was an adult in the 80’s, Seraphim can testify to the gorgeous acuity of the homage…

ShadowSyndicate4

… you also get this poster with the game…

ShadowSyndicate5

… you start the game, and get a series of loading screens…

ShadowSyndicate6

… until you arrive at this rain-soaked alley…

ShadowSyndicate7

… where this guy suddenly appears before you, and your fists come up. You are meant to hit him before he shoots you, and, apparently, that allows you to beat him and progress through the game…

ShadowSyndicate8

… unfortunately, because you only have a split second to react, and Seri was busy taking pictures, she always got killed! She’d then have to restart the game, and run through everything, again, trying to get the best images… by the time she had enough, she was over it, and hasn’t actually played Shadow Syndicate, yet! But, she will (:

Heart-rending Koala Rescue

KoalaHug

Seraphim read this, this morning. The video clip, at the top, of Toni rescuing a literally burning Koala, just made her cry and cry. The whole story about the losses the Koala population have suffered is equally heart-rending… but that one scene, of that wonderful woman putting the burning Koala out with water from a bottle, and him wailing in pain… it just kind of encapsulates the sadness of the whole situation.

They named the little guy ‘Lewis’, and he survived, thanks to that amazing, brave woman (:
