Beneath a Cosmic Canopy

My gossamer-winged sweetheart and I visited ‘Ethereal City‘, recently…

… of course, the sky was our favourite aspect of this sim…

… it’s a very vigorous sky, constantly on the move, but always dramatic…

… but the whole sim is also very photogenic…

… and quite eclectic, too…

… with aspects of modernity…

… beside those of medieval grandeur…

… a spooky graveyard…

… canopies of autumnal gold…

… there’s lots to see, here, beneath the wheeling cosmic array…

… Flutter squealed in delight, every time we saw a shooting star… she calls them ‘supersonic fireflies’, I didn’t have the heart to tell her what they actually were (:

No Tears in the Rain

We visited the wonderful, ever-changing Luane’s World, today. It’s Autumn there, now. We adore Autumn (Fall), it’s our absolute fave season…

… we also adore rain-drenched sims. There’s plenty to see at Luane’s World, and it isn’t raining in most of the sim, but we really liked this part, where it was wonderfully melancholic and, well, wet…

… thunder rolls around the sky, and the rain pours down… but this isn’t like Roy Batty’s swan song, there’s nothing sad, or final about this Autumn rain…

… this is just the turning of the season, watched over by a vaguely bored-looking angel of death…

… we followed the path, in the rain, away from the ruined villa and the apathetic angel…

… till we came out of the rain, and encountered the cutest little critter we’ve seen for a long time…

… an absolutely adorable little, flower-sniffing squirrel! There are sweet little critters all over the sim, but this little guy just melted my heart (:

A Pink World

We visited Cica Ghost’s ‘Pink Fairytale‘, yesterday…

… this is a pink and white (pinky-white) confection of bubblegum sweetness…

… both cartoonish and surreal at the same time…

… there is the usual Ghost menagerie, but they are all pink, of course. We didn’t stay long near this neurotic elephant, because I could see that Flutter was making him twitchy…

… pink is one of my favourite colours, but even I have to say, it’s amazing that all this pink isn’t too much pink, but it works, somehow… perhaps it’s the shade of the predominant pink?…

… I’ve always enjoyed Cica’s skies…

… but I think this one is her most beautiful (:

Longing Melody Revisited

I took Flutter to see Longing Melody, last evening…

… it was six months ago I was last here, and Flutter was still in the future, so I was Flutter-less…

… so it was all new to us both, this time…

… it’s all much darker, this time, though it’s a good kind of dark… thoughtful and turn-of-the-seasony kind of dark, as well as mostly somber colours, and sky, but it’s all very beautiful…

… for some reason, the whole place made me think of ‘Wind in the Willows’, the kind of whimsical, nostalgic feeling for lost childhood spent gambolling in field and meadow, playing by whispering streams, lost in the fog…

… we really loved it, here…

… there are wonderful, autumnal forests, beautiful moors, and rocky shores…

… lots to explore…

… what can I say?…

… not even the rain dampened our enjoyment…

… we love it, here (:

The Drowned Cathedral

So… another day playing in astonishing Midjourney, and another new exhibition! This one is called ‘The Drowned Cathedral’, and is at my little gallery in Soho

… I absolutely love Midjourney! My work has always been iterative, and Midjourney embodies iterative development…

… I am totally enjoying learning how to operate this wonderful tool…

… and just can’t wait to see where it leads me, next…

(:

The Drowned City

I put a new exhibition up at Placebo Gallery, today. It’s called ‘The Drowned City’…

… I have finally embraced the AI-generated art craze! I only started playing with it today! In several hours, I generated enough work for this exhibition. I did these using the prompts ‘the drowned city’, and ‘climate crisis’, amongst others…

… I thoroughly enjoyed myself! These are pretty basic, and just my first attempts. I touched most of them up in Photoshop, though nothing really dramatic…

… I’ll probably move on to generated images that I can use to compile my own scenes, rather than just giving the AI a scene to generate…

… but these aren’t as easy to create as you may think! You need to constantly tinker with the ‘prompts’, and it’s surprising what a difference in quality a differently phrased prompt can create…

… I’m really impressed with what I was able to do in just a few hours of play, and look forward to where this leads me (:
