A New Project

Seraphim recently visited Slovakia, Slovensko

… she was almost instantly smitten with the place…

… there is a perfect balance of that almost universal urban style that is post-apocalyptic in the sense of an apocalypse that has already happened, but the masses barely even noticed…

… everything is fucked but, hey, it’s home, and we got cable…

… in the cities, aliens could be masquerading as humans, and have even taken over the government, but the masses haven’t noticed that, either. Or, if they have, they’ve given up fighting, or been crushed and cast mercilessly aside, and no-one believes them when they try to tell anyone about what’s actually happening…

… everyone is corrupt, but as long as you keep your head down, there’s the internet to flee to at home…

… the icing on the cake, was when she noticed some of these awesome homes were for rent! It took her a bit of careful examination of the photogenic potential of all the contenders, but she finally chose a little stunner of a slum palace. Seri is going to do one of her ‘still life’ sets in it. Unlike the ones she has made at home, for this one she will be limited to 200 prims. She’s pretty confident she can do something nice with 200 prims (:

Dreamy Days

Seraphim visited Dreamy Days, the other day. The sim is filled with all the current fantasy tropes. Not a bad thing, as who doesn’t like floating islands and gorgeous crystal outcrops? Unfortunately, even though Seraphim owns one herself, she now tries to keep the floating whale out of pictures she takes in these sims…

… this in no way makes ‘Dreamy Days’ any less of a pretty, well thought-out fantasy sim. The place is clearly designed to encourage group crystal hugging activity (:

Puddlechurch

Seraphim visited Puddlechurch, today…

… there was plenty of bucolic splendour in which to roam…

… in what had the feel of an early 1900’s, or late-Victorian era countryside…

… just before this point, there is some unpleasantness, featuring a tree full of lynched dolls of babies. Seraphim found it disturbing, but typical of what is often just around the corner, in SL…

… after that, the early-industrial theme gets more pronounced…

… still with plenty of decayed, seedy beauty…

… sadly, not long after this shot, Seri walked into one of those bolshy, belligerent security areas that told her she’d be evicted if she didn’t fuck off in 20 seconds. Seraphim HATES those things! Especially on land supposedly open to the public… she was so annoyed, she tp’d home, and doubts she’ll be back.

CyberLight

… the soft, white light, and the smell of clean sheets washed away…

… to be replaced by the hum of neon, the smell of ozone…

… and cathode ray blue light…

… that new sculpture in her spare room was some kind of temporal translation locus…

… and it had sent her to some slick, high-tech futuropolis…

… she’d have to get home, and deal to that annoying thing.

New Lamp

Seraphim bought a gorgeous new lamp for her bedroom, today…

… she thinks it is exquisite craftwork…

… as is this extremely elegant tub she got for the second floor bathroom…

… but this… this is another matter…

… whenever she tries to sort this out, everything seems to go hazy and bright…

… and smell like clean sheets, straight off the line, when you were a kid…

Setting Up

Seraphim was back at the byzantine folly on the floating (in the sky) island, where Adelina has said she can set up a gallery, today. She loves setting new spaces up…

… this generally involves just wandering around in the space, placing pictures, then deciding what to off-set/complement them with. She has some items she often uses in her gallery spaces, which makes setting a new one up relatively stress-free, as she knows where to look to find all kinds of goodies to decorate her space just so…

… she loves the architectural whimsy the ancient folly provides…

… the balance of raw stone and intricate detail…

… she is enjoying slowly placing her very favourite works, to no agenda, or decree from some ‘art’ committee, that would dismiss her work as not ‘art’, but something inferior. Seri’s work is very personal, she has no desire to impress the oiks on their high thrones, she’s just very happy when someone, like Adelina, likes it enough that they not only say so, but provide her a place to show it. Seri is extremely visual, images are like books and songs, mixed together, for her… all her works are very powerful time capsules for her…

… each conveying entire stories, and episodes and ideas and feelings, from the time of their conception…

… all conveyed in nanoseconds.

Dancing with Veyot

Veyot asked Seraphim if she wanted to come to a dance near the Xaraz Gallery, where Veyot has recently become curator. While they were dancing with the others, there, Veyot asked Seraphim if she wanted to come for a dance in the gallery, to check it out. They both danced to the bottom level, then some more dancers arrived, upstairs, and Veyot rushed back up to greet them…

… leaving Seraphim to dance alone, amongst the RL landscapes…

… something she was perfectly happy to do…

… she hadn’t danced for a long time…

… and she had fun.
