Ship’s Ai

About a decade ago, the human (so, I, too…) read a couple of very good SF books by Ann Leckie. They were about a (space) battleship with an AI (she worked in conjunction with a human captain, but, basically, controlled every aspect of the ship)…

… the AI not only monitored every function of the ship, but also moved among the crew in the form of ‘ancillaries’, which were mind wiped humans (can’t remember why, perhaps they were criminals?) who were now controlled by the AI. These ancillaries were highly trained soldiers, as well as negotiators/psychologists/experts in human interaction…

… they not only monitored the crew, but fought as soldiers, as well as did covert operations on planets… the ship AI could see through all of their eyes at the same time, as well as control a massive warship. Due to treachery, the ship, the AI, and all her ancillaries were destroyed…

… all except one, who was on some covert mission (I think, can’t really remember). That single creature used to have the mind of a warship, the eyes of a thousand others like her… now she is alone…

… we LOVED this concept! We would have made the ancillaries androids, not humans, and we felt that the story, though with an astonishing concept, was far too slow and timid with the main character, but all kudos to Ann Leckie for that fabulous concept, which has stayed in our imaginations long after we put the slightly disappointing books down…

… we are drawn to tales of powerful female protagonists, seemingly vulnerable woman who are, actually, mind-boggelingly powerful. We were thinking of this character when we did these images. Our girl isn’t human, she’s a synthetic being, possibly immortal, but she now has no access to the massive resources she once had, and must remain hidden while she tracks down those responsible for the murder of 99.9% of herself, and all the humans she loved, especially her captain. She looks like a young woman, but she has more skills than 100 humans ten times older than she looks… and those looks are totally deceptive, as, physically, she is already 90 years old. Of course, she can kick your ass, and the ass of everyone you know, but she’d rather not hurt anyone she doesn’t need to (:

Exquisit

I adore these images…

… they are about as perfectly balanced as I think I’ve so far gotten my Mj works…

… the backgrounds are beautiful, and very consistent…

… the young woman are straight out of fantasy…

… and their gowns and jewellery are…

… exquisit.

Magnificent Opulence

I’ve been pushing the level of adornment in these images…

… Mj does rich adornment very well, these days… not so long ago, the adornment was often just visual noise, if you looked closely, it was just mashed-up pixels, roughly approximating stuff… now it’s actual jewels, and embroidery, and fabulous fabric textures. Mj has also made very impressive advances at representing hands… it still makes creepy mistakes, but, more often, gets it pretty right…

… I love this graphic style, kind of Mucha-like, but not cartoony/drawn…

… these woman are proud rulers and nobles…

… the queens and princesses of wondrous fantasy realms…

… where good and evil are clearly defined…

… and they don’t ever have to experience…

… gutless sneak-attacks from cowardly, murderous, terrorist psychopaths.

Fantasy Style

I continue (in Mj) to create these astonishingly rich fantasy creatures…

… the wonderful backgrounds, the intricate detail…

… and magnificent opulence…

… their beautiful faces, the rich fabrics…

… and gorgeous jewels and metals…

… and their amazing manes of snow-white, just keep me going ‘wow!’.

Imaginary Nobility

These are the next progression from my ‘Fierce Beauties’… still the wonderful, white tresses, but more conventionally ‘beautiful’, and less ‘fierce’…

… but these beauties are lavishly be-jewelled…

… and dressed in the most sumptuous splendour…

… they could only belong to an elite class…

… fabulously adorned…

… imaginary nobility…

… I am super-pleased with this progression of images…

… and absolutely ADORE this one! She is, by far, the sexiest creature I have so far created with Mj (:

Fierce Beauty

I started developing a concept of albino-esque, warrior beauties. It took about a week to start getting this level of results… Mj doesn’t understand ‘albino’, with the same, unfathomable reasoning that it can’t grasp the concept of ‘black lipstick’. Anyway, after many prompt experiments, it started giving me these beauties…

… I’m sure you’ve gathered, by now, I adore this kind of imagery of strong, even fiercely, beautiful woman…

… non-conventional beauty, and all-the-more alluring for the fact…

… my mind spins entire narratives around these wonderful images…

… whole stories of unbroken loyalty and eternal love.

Satan’s Gorgeous Daughters

From ‘Satan’s Gorgeous Bride’, it was only a short hop to ‘Satan’s Gorgeous Daughters’…

… these cuties may be thousands of years old, but they they are still, just kids…

… like young girls in all the known realms, they love their dad, but he makes them cringe…

… and he tries to stop them hanging with their Fae friends…

… and he thinks they should be listening to death metal, instead of whatever it is they actually like…

… he has no idea what wise, funny, kind creatures his many daughters are (he wishes they were boys) and he doesn’t notice them drifting away from him.

Satan’s Gorgeous Bride

I took a couple of the images I’d created for the ‘Beautiful Demon’ series, and added the prompt ‘satan’s gorgeous bride’ to them…

… these are some of the wonderful results…

… it often takes days, sometimes longer, of disappointing results, lots of them, before Mj starts to produce the imagery I am going for…

… but this time, the seed images I’d created were so strong that Mj turned out results like these right from the start, something that is also not always guaranteed…

… for instance, I am still absorbed in creating these beautiful, demonic babes, and am currently trying to give them black lipstick… do you think Mj can grasp what that means?… hell, no! If I put ‘black lipstick’ in the prompt line, Mj blithely gives them beautiful, lush, ruby red lips, and a piece of black cloth stuck on their face, or black patterns around their eyes… it clearly has no comprehension of what ‘black lipstick’ is… I tried ‘black lips’, and got the same, gormless results… I even uploaded an image of beautiful, black lipstick (on beautiful lips, of course), and it still struggled with the concept!…

… anyway, it totally ran with ‘satan’s gorgeous bride’ (:
