Our apologies to the handful of our hundreds of followers who actually ever engage with us; the humans ongoing battle with the big ‘C’ has dramatically disrupted our diligent posting schedule, as it has also dramatically curtailed our SL presence. We are, however, suddenly full of energy/life, again, and re-engaging with our artistic processes…

… we have an insane backlog of stunning MJ work that we have barely looked at. We intend to re-discover all the gems that are buried in our MJ folders…

… and share them with you…

… starting with these really beautiful visitors from our imagination. We appreciate that they have actually been ‘dreamed’ into existence by a software algorithm, but that algorithm would never have ‘dreamed’ them, without our diligent/extensive, input (:

The lone survivor of a downed space-freighter finds herself struggling to shore on an alien planet…

… eventually her feet touch firm ground…

… and she stumbles onto the land…

… she hopes rescue arrives before her air-supply runs out.
We had fun illustrating this little scenario… we couldn’t quite get her face consistent, and couldn’t get her spacesuit consistent at all, other than it being orange… but the stunning sky and the sea are wonderfully consistent (:

A bit of design fun…

… creating imaginary 1970’s scifi book covers…

… for an imaginary story called ‘The Perils of Eden’…

… about the dangers awaiting colonists…

… to a seemingly pristine planet they have, of course, named ‘Eden’…

… we love this stuff (:
Just to be safe, we googled our imaginary title… there IS a book called ‘Perils of Eden’ (it’s not scifi)… of course there is, such a great title… we feel that, for the purposes of our bit of fun, ‘The Perils of Eden’ is sufficiently different.

Even little aliens get the blues sometimes…

… they mope around in shallow lakes of water-like stuff, beneath flat, yellow skies…

… wondering why the universe is so cruel…

… and what it all means…

… then they start noticing how beautiful this particular part of the lake is…

… and they start to feel better…

… and realise that everything is balanced by everything else, you just need to understand the points of balance.

Once again, we are running way ahead of our posts, with our progress, so here’s a condensed catchup! We have found that the ‘blend’ option in MidJourney often rewards brave (seemingly incompatible) blends, with stunning, unexpected results. We got the above image (and a whole series of them) by blending one of our scifi babes from a year or so ago, with one of our recent spaceship images… we’d hoped it would put her in the foreground, ship in the background, instead it did this, which was entirely unexpected, but we can see how it came up with it, based on the two images used…

… although the babe we used wasn’t aquatic at all, she had very fluid lines and colours, and you can see Mj has turned the spaceships into fish-like objects, and has used the amazing lighting from the spaceship images to light these gorgeous, underwater scenes of weirdness…

… we often develop similar scenes in tandem. Above is one of a whole series we did of spectacularly panoramic beach scenes with spaceships in them, we were doing these at the same time we were doing the even more dramatic spaceship scenes…

… we really liked them, but felt the ones we posted were slightly more interesting…

… this is what happened when we blended some of the top two images with some of the panoramic spaceship images! We couldn’t believe our luck! We didn’t know what to expect, but totally didn’t expect anything this beautiful…

… these are just the tip of the iceberg of what we have done using this theme. Although capital ‘A’ art oiks would disagree, we think these are the closest thing to ‘art’ we have ever produced, using Mj (:

We’ve really enjoyed creating these awesome scenes…

… of gigantic spaceships…

… hanging with improbable majesty…

… in spectacular alien skies…

… harbingers of life-changing portent.

We continue to beaver away at our strange ships…

… we are very pleased with our progress…

… we’ve managed to keep the grand scale, and dynamic perspective…

… bet have seriously advanced the unique alien-ness of our strange ships…

… and we love the wonderful atmosphere of these images… they’d make awesome scifi book covers (:
