Daemon Demise

The Daemon work tirelessly, for thousands of years, realising the intentions of the World Builders…

… whether they were alien, human, or god to begin with becomes irrelevant…

… they become Daemon. They begin to resemble the material they work with, to contain the same awesome power they wield…

… they begin to burn with the force of a star’s core…

… their sheer strength of mind contains this force for thousands more years…

… but, eventually, they forget to contain it, they actually begin to become what they are building…

… they burn, brighter and brighter, losing themselves in their mission…

… until they lose containment.

Strange Beautiful Visions

My tireless (mostly) experimentation with Mj has gifted me a wonderful new cache of images…

… I have discovered a few more, simple prompt words…

… which deliver gorgeous…

… wonderfully strange…

… results…

… I continue to enjoy (mostly) my Mj journey. The huge thing, which is, really, the only thing I really dislike about Mj is its ludicrously puritanical concept of ‘pornography’. For instance, it told me the above image is ‘pornography’, and prevented me from using it as a springboard to develop its gorgeousness. Sometimes this pathetic, small-minded idiocy causes me to give up in disgust… thankfully, I keep coming back (:

Triptychs

I have been pursuing my winged sweethearts, but deliberately pushing the images toward more abstract ‘wings’… Mj randomly threw out this amazing triptych! Of course, it wouldn’t let me develop this image because it is pure, evil pornography (according to Mj), but I re-rolled the set of images this one was in, and started getting more triptychs, which I was able to develop…

… it wouldn’t let me rework this one, either…

… but I was able to, eventually, get it producing versions like this, with which I could work…

… I have no idea (of course I don’t!) what Mj is thinking when it creates these, I certainly never asked it to start doing triptychs, nor gave it any parameters within which to work…

… but, to me, they all have a cohesive, though illusive, rationality…

… and I think they are gorgeous (:

Porno Angels

I decided to create a ‘punk’ angel. I created the above image and thought ‘gorgeous!’, but when I tried to redevelop this image, Mj shrieked ‘Pornography!!!’ at me in the hysterical manner it does, and wouldn’t let me reuse the image. As I’ve told you several times, this really pisses me off… the above image simply (to me, anyway) is NOT pornography. I could do infinite ‘re-rolls’ of the image, essentially the same image, over and over, with only minor changes, but not incorporate it into a more evolved image. Via a circuitous route, using the original four-image set that this one was first in, and re-rolling that, I was able to start moving forward…

… and create this image. Despite this image being virtually the same as the first one, Mj decided this one wasn’t pornography, and let me reuse it…

… I was off and running, again…

… developing my ‘punk’ angels…

… I took one of those winged punkettes, and gave her the prompt ‘ascending renaissance angel’, and got the above image (:

White Witch

I read the sad news, the other day, that some dusty old luddites in the US Copyright Office have decided that no-one can copyright AI-generated art because, in their ludicrous, totally uninformed opinions, the creation of such work does not contain ‘sufficient human control’…

… to create these four works, I produced over one hundred iterations, constantly refining them via changed prompts, getting them to where they were what I’d initially visualised…

… then I took them into Photoshop CS5.1, and made many small, but vital, adjustments…

… sure, people can hit ‘play’ and produce instant ‘art’ using Midjourney, and those people can’t really claim to have had much input ( though they have had the same amount of ‘input’ as someone hitting the button on a camera), but for some crusty fools to claim I haven’t had ‘sufficient human control’ of what I create using Mj is the decision of idiots.

Winds of Time

I don’t have any idea where I am, or when, any more…

… I never notice the transitions, but I continue to inhabit long-dead spaces, and cannot remember the last time I saw another being…

… I appear to have been blown far off-course…

… by the winds of time that you disturbed when you left.

Slipstream

I became aware that there were no longer any other people in the realities I was now moving through…

… and these places I now inhabited, they weren’t even places we used to exist in…

… they were just sad, empty spaces…

… I was, somehow, trapped in the slipstream of your leaving, being dragged ever deeper into a reality of loss and decay.

Ghost

As I wandered through those broken, empty places, I realised I couldn’t even remember your face…

… you told me that would happen, that once you’d made it to the next level, all trace of you would vanish from this one…

… but I could still remember the space that you used to fill…

… I realised I’d been roaming these places for years, possibly decades…

… even though I didn’t go with you, and could barely remember you, the fact I remembered you at all stopped me from fitting into this plane…

… I’d become a ghost.

Edit

So, after looking at this image a bit longer, once I’d posted it, I decided that, no, the Mj anatomical weirdness I’d left in didn’t make it ‘dream-like’… in fact, it made it nightmarish…

… so I spent a few more minutes, 15 at most, and fixed it, kinda embarrassed by my initial laziness.

The Primordial Valley

Well, it took me about 2 days to get totally bored with making shapes… thought I’d have a go at landscapes…

… it took several hours to start getting results like these, but once I did, I was hooked…

… landscapes have the same potential for stunning imagery that my Machine Dolls did…

… I need to fall in love with my work, in order to put in the hours needed for good results, not just Mj, but my entire life of artistic creation, if I don’t love what I am doing, don’t love the results, I soon lose interest…

… these are pretty gorgeous… far more interesting than shapes/abstract objects…

… and I can see them very quickly leaning toward the fantasial/sci-fi realm of reality (:
