Night Light

During my midnight camera-drone jaunt, the other night, I realised that the bottom of the steps from my wild garden to my managed garden were pretty dangerously dark for anyone not familiar with what was where…

… so I installed some of my trusty Japanese stone lanterns and a bit more paving, so the path was more obvious and manageable from the bottom of the stairs to the old path that used to run down the side of my chateau, before I pulled the chateau down, and let nature run wild in what was left of it’s footprint…

… the lights and extra paving work really well. After I took these pictures, I went for another midnight camera stroll…

… there’s lots of sweet fauna amongst my flora…

… this little Fae and her friend come most nights…

… and sit here, endlessly entranced by the water running into the bucket from the fountain. The bucket is plumbed back to the fountain, so it never fills up, but is always filling. Perhaps the Fae and her friend don’t know this, and think the bucket is a magical thing?…

… a fox has recently made a den under some rocks. If you are patient…

… she will come out and scan the area…

… making sure it’s safe for her pups to come out…

… and play.
