VeGeTaL PLaNeT Gallery

Seraphim visited the VeGeTaL PLaNeT Gallery, last night…

… the current exhibition provides tons of gorgeous neon for Seri to consume with her cameras…

… most of the work is kinetic, so the space is a constantly evolving/revolving light space…

… each work revolves through it’s transitional phases, to repeat…

… the building, itself, though restfully static, is architecturally suggestive of kinetic forms…

… not all the work there is kinetic neon.

The Outer Garden

Seraphim visited ‘The Outer Garden‘, this morning. This is a mind-bogglingly complex build of layer upon layer of gorgeous detail. Seri marvelled out how much work must have gone into creating this place…

… there is so much, here, to spend time exploring…

… space, and probably time, are lavishly distorted…

… there is a constant slow dance of elements interacting, rolling, and swirling…

… there is so much to do and see…

… that it’s almost too much, certainly too much to take in in one visit.

Liquides Apartment

Seraphim loves her little Hangars Liquides apartment. She doesn’t come here as often as she’d like, but really enjoys the ambience here, when she does…

… she can snuggle in a chair and sit for hours, listening to the huge city beyond her window, and over her balcony…

… she has blogged Hangars Liquides several times, and doesn’t tend to go exploring as much as she used to…

… but this apartment is still one of her most treasured possessions. When she has snuggled for long enough inside, she will step out into the fabulous cityscape that is just over her balcony…

… and just soak up the stunning views…

… of this marvellous build.

Placebo Gallery

Seraphim, who just needs to be working on stuff, decided it was time to create another gallery, last night…

… using a pre-fab, modular component set she bought on MP, she whipped up a nice little, industrial loft-style art space in the corner of her older block of land beside the Circuit La Corse, where it runs through Jormungandr. This is just beside the plot she first build a gallery on, nine years ago. The new gallery fits in nicely with it’s landscaping…

… just in the door, she has some of her gacha for sale, gallery decoration that you can buy!…

… the building has lovely, high skylights. This look is the look she’s always gone for with the galleries she built herself, but someone of her limited building skills simply can’t compete with a fabulous mesh prefab like this one, as far as prims are concerned, and just the ease of construction…

… the theme of her new exhibition is ‘Seraphim Placebo, Explorer’, and highlights some of her favourite images from her exploration posts…

… she’s still tinkering with her new space…

… but, she’s pretty happy with it (:

Drune Iteration

Seraphim visited the latest manifestation of Drune, today…

… there was the usual proliferation of gorgeous neon…

… and atmosphere of cyber-sleaze…

… with plenty of images to keep adolescent asian males awake for hours…

… but, a lot of this build felt more thoughtful, than previous builds, somehow more introspective. This gorgeous BladeRunneresque, Gieger-themed bar interior…

… was, by far, the most sophisticated, elegant, and perfect interior she can ever remember seeing in a Drune build.

Grauland Iteration

Seraphim visited the latest iteration of Grauland, this morning…

… she was struck by how much the scenes here made her think of…

… all those J G Ballard books her human read, back in the day…

… the whole place put her in a J G Ballard mood… a mood of strange, apocalyptic happenings, that just suddenly happen, like the tide going out for ever, and life just goes on, cocktails at six, dinner parties, everyone screwing everyone else’s wife, yet they are doing it all in the ruins…

… of what used to be their world, beneath somehow unsettling skies…

… and aspects of the new world that they simply have no clue how to parse.

Conjuring

Seraphim went to hang out with her friend, Adelina, this morning…

… Adelina is the owner/creator/landscaper of Garden of Eden, a place Seri has posted about, previously… in fact, that was when Seri and Adelina met and became instant friends…

… Adelina is a very hard working creator, constantly fine-tuning her little wonderland. Of course, one mortal being couldn’t do this much work, so tirelessly…

… which is why Adelina uses magic…

… with her celestial orbs, she borrows energy from the universe…

… and returns it by creating an entire, fabulous little world.

Walsh County Revisited

Last time Seraphim visited Walsh County, the barley crop was green, and still being fertilised…

… now, everything is wonderfully autumnal, and the crop is half-harvested…

… last time the sim was crawling with visitors, this time it was beautifully empty. She could roam beneath gorgeous skies, with the Wyeth-like horizon calling to her in mauve and oatmeal waves, and listen to the regular waves of ducks passing overhead, on their way South, she imagined…

… it was really beautiful, and addictively tranquil, she just wondered amongst the rustling barley crop, not minding the senselessly idling harvester parked in the empty field, it’s operators obviously having wondered off in a daze, probably into those distant hills, where they got lost and no-one ever heard from them, again… all the time, their machine was pointlessly chugging through it’s environmentally toxic freight of distilled, ancient minerals…

… but even that pointless engine chatter was, somehow, soothing…

… and Seri spent a long time, here, just wondering, thinking, and, of course, calculating light/angles, and shooting well over one hundred images, which she then distilled to these six.

Floating Anticipation

Seraphim was cruising around her beloved garden, last evening, when she decided to have another shot at getting into The Epiphany, she decided she’d try till she got in, this time… she’d already tried multiple times, earlier in the day. She selected her TP destination, double-clicked it…

… there was the satisfying whooshing sound of a teleport nearing completion, and… she was floating in the tall grass in her wilderness area, the TP having failed, the dialogue box saying ‘ha ha, too full!’… till she attempted to zoom her camera, or move, she remained floating… it was quite nice floating here, in her long grass and flowers, in the dusk light, but she had a destination, and she was determined to get there…

… she has found that the only way this works, if you really want to get in, is to hit ‘close’ on the dialogue box, and instantly double-click the destination, again, in case you miss that valuable free space that just became available, which is what she did… satisfying whoosh… nope!, still floating!… ‘close’, redial!… whooooshh!… nope!!…

… she quite enjoyed taking pictures of herself floating in her ocean of grasses, but only ever had the one angle, as soon as she attempted to adjust that angle, she would return to her normal standing pose, which, also, made for some lovely images…

… she knew she was in for the long haul, hitting ‘send’, hitting ‘close’, repeat… the Epiphany, by it’s nature, is not like other destinations, when trying to gauge the turnover, as the people who visit tend to stay a lot longer, vacuuming up all those delicious gacha delights. By the time the satisfying ‘whoosh!’ finally resulted in an actual arrival, it completely caught Seri by surprise, as she’d kinda gotten into the send/close/repeat/float loop!

Back to the Expo

Seraphim went back to the SciFi Expo, today, to explore some more…

… she wanted to see some cool interiors, and found a very cool space tower, which she entered and climbed to the top of…

… she loves these kind of brutalist, techno-deco interiors…

… the view from the top made it pretty clear that things in space, near this expo…

… looked alarmingly unstable.
