Mysterious Paradise

MysteriousP

Today, Seraphim went to the ‘Mysterious Paradise Event’. Finding the actual ‘event’ pretty underwhelming, she wandered out a side exit, where she found a rope she could shimmy down into an interesting looking wild area. The first things she encountered were the ubiquitous SL howling wolves… she thought the ‘underwhelm’ effect was here, too…

MysteriousP2

… then she wandered into this wetland area, and started noticing all the gorgeous details, all the pretty wildlife…

MysteriousP3

… some of which was almost ‘overload’ in it’s cuteness, but not quite, it was just right…

MysteriousP5

… she continued to find beautiful, charming stuff, such as an Ent in the pollen-laden haze…

MysteriousP6

… a hawk contemplating her next meal…

MysteriousP7

… a Kingfisher, just contemplating…

MysteriousP8

… she slipped whilst trying to get onto a bridge, and discovered that there was an entire underwater world here, too…

MysteriousP9

… she clambered out of the water, to find herself in savannah lands, with lions and giraffes, then she found a tunnel that took her to an Arctic wilderness, with Polar Bears and foxes… she wound up beside the Arctic sea, the Northern Lights playing behind her. She was entirely blown away by this unexpected landscape of various wildernesses, all gorgeously assembled, and rich in wildlife. She would have to come back, there was just too much to take in in one visit. On the way out, she was more than happy to donate to the World Animal Protection organisation, for which this event and, she assumes, the entire build, are a fund raiser.

Done Testing

BestD-Lab

Having tested all her recently acquired D-Lab flying vehicles, Seraphim has decided…

BestD-Lab2

… that the little truck is her favourite one…

BestD-Lab3

… it’s not the best looking, but it’s the cutest…

BestD-Lab4

… it’s not the fastest, but it’s the most comfortable to drive…

BestD-Lab5a

… testing these vehicles has re-awakened her love of simply roaming the public roads, something she’s not done for several years. She’d thought SL was largely empty, now, compared to how it once was, and, to a degree, she was right…

BestD-Lab6b

… but there’s still plenty of interesting, cute, clever, cool, crazy, stupid stuff, out there, to see… stuff you’ll only see if you randomly cruise the roads. She finds her little flying truck far less annoying to use than any wheeled vehicle she’s ever attempted to use in SL, and finds using a flying vehicle way more fun than walking, so, to paraphrase John Wick, Seraphim thinks, as far as random exploration goes, she’s thinking she’s back.

300 Year Stare WIP

300YearStareWIP

Seraphim has started her second Alita painting. This one is called ‘300 Year Stare‘. This is sweet little Alita channelling her 300-year-old Berserker-class skills and training, near the end of the film, seriously-dangerously housed in the 300-year-old Berserker-class body she found in the downed Martian space craft, a body she was clearly designed to inhabit… this is when she deals some serious damage to all the assholes who have been trying to kill her and those close to her… the assholes do not walk away, this time.

The Rookie; “How you doin’?”

TheRookie-HowYouDoing

Sweet, friendly, happy teenage android Alita rolls up to the starting line for the trials, turns to the guy beside her and asks ‘How you doin’?” She’s such a sweet kid. A few seconds later, she gets a heads-up from her ‘father’, telling her it’s a setup, all the people gathered around her are bad people… neither of them know that every single one of these people are there expressly for the purpose of murdering Alita… when she gets this warning, teenage Alita becomes 300-year-old Alita, the killing machine, and all those killers become doomed.

Sad Girl

SadGirl

Seraphim has thrown herself into travelling, blogging, and painting…

SadGirl2

… sitting up alone in her apartment, listening to Elle King singing ‘Good Thing Gone’…

SadGirl3

… surrounded by all her comfortable, familiar stuff…

SadGirl4a

… stuff that never hurts her, or lets her down… stuff that she can understand…

SadGirl5a

… when the music ends, it’s too quiet, and she’s still alone.

The Rookie WIP

TheRookieWIP

It’s been too long since Seraphim did a painting. She needs to feel passionate about what she paints, and can’t really just make herself paint unless she really loves her subject. She recently watched ‘Alita: Battle Angel’, and loved it to bits, as she knew she would. She now has several paintings planned, but has started with this one. The full title will be The Rookie: “How you doin?”… Seraphim loved the scene where Alita, the rookie, rolls up to the start-line for the trials, and is her usual happy, cute self, being friendly to the hardened killers all around her, not realising they are all there for only one reason… to kill her! Of course, as soon as she is warned about this, we see her face change from happy teenaged android, to totally confident, 300-year-old killing machine!

This may look pretty amateur at this stage, it’s only an hours work… give it a few more hours, Seraphim knows, from experience, it will look fabulous.

The Promise

ThePromise

Today, Seraphim visited ‘The Promise’…

ThePromise2

… the recommended windlight is very stark, has a very limited palette…

ThePromise3

… Seraphim loaded black & white into her camera drones, just knowing it would look stunning…

ThePromise4

… she wasn’t wrong…

ThePromise5

… it did.

Continuing a Theme…

CornHub

This morning, Seraphim took her new D-Lab Flying Saucer for a spin, later that day, she read this post, by the always-interesting Ricco Saenz, it led her to the Cornhub sim, a sim whose theme is…

CornHub4a

… flying saucers…

CornHub5

… flying saucers and apocalyptic decay with that usual Fallout flavour…

CornHub7a

… as someone who actually is from another planet, Seraphim finds this stuff delightful…she loved the palette/lighting here, finding the juxtaposition of colour/harshness quite beautiful.

UFO Trippin’

ufoTrip

Seraphim had one last D-Lab flying vehicle to take for it’s first spin. Accordingly, she climbed into her D-Lab Flying Saucer, and set out from Bunny Field…

ufoTrip2

… she flew past Tattoo parlours…

ufoTrip3

… road-side diners…

ufoTrip4

… cafe’s…

ufoTrip5

… marina’s…

snap_041a

… cosy gardens…

ufoTrip7

… and road-side attractions…

ufoTrip8

… finally landing on the ground floor of Placebo Gallery, which she has decided to keep. She stood, for a long time, looking at a picture of her beautiful, sweet Zoey, wishing with all her heart to see her soon. When she bought her D-lab flying vehicles, she specifically got the two-seater ones, except the Inago, which was just too cool not to get, so she could take Zoey with her on flying adventures. She hopes that will still happen.
