New Home at Night

NightTimeHome

Seraphim has been spending so much time setting up her new home, she often works into the night…

NightTimeHome2

… which is fine, because, then, she gets to see how beautiful it’s all looking…

NightTimeHome3

… her front yard is almost finished…

NightTimeHome4

… which is to say, it’s almost at a point where it’s basic form is established, from where it will be endlessly tweaked… which, of course, is all part of the fun. The purple light in the nearest window…

NightTimeHome5

… is Seri’s beloved ‘Kitty-in-a-Balloon’, now happily settled into to her new airspace, and tirelessly zooming around, constantly providing Seraphim with delight…

NightTimeHome6

… the front door to Seri’s mansion is guarded by two ferocious…

NightTimeHome7

… um… plastic robots (:

NeverMore Gallery

NeverMore

Seraphim visited the NeverMore Gallery, today…

NeverMore2

… there were several photographs being exhibited there, that she rather liked…

NeverMore3

… mostly because they were very good…

NeverMore4a

… but also because several of them were wonderfully eccentric…

NeverMore5a

… not the usual SL ‘photography’ fare…

NeverMore6

… Seraphim particularly liked this one, for it’s beautiful, limited palette, and it’s genuine air of mystery.

Tearing Down the House

BigTearDown

This is the house that Seraphim built herself, and lived in, for the last 8 years…

BigTearDown2

… it’s huge. It was initially a tiny gallery, on 512sqm, about the size of the entrance foyer, behind the fluorescent palms…

BigTearDown3

… over the years, Seri bought adjacent pieces of land, and others across the road, slowly building up her prim hoard, and her ‘house’ grew and grew, undergoing many transformations, both internally and externally…

BigTearDown4a

… it’s been this shape/look for the last few years. These pictures are like those ones you see, just before they detonate the charges to bring down an apartment building… these pictures are just the empty shell… Seri spent all day deleting/retrieving everything inside… even most of the internal walls are gone, now…

BigTearDown5

… it’s just a beautiful, enormous monument to the last eight years of Seri’s life…

BigTearDown6a

… gone…

BigTearDown7

… almost in the blink of an eye… perhaps it took ten minutes… the little ‘welcome’ bunnies look a bit dazed…

BigTearDown8

… Seri WAS a bit dazed…

BigTearDown9

… then she thought about the 3000+ prims she now has to play with!

New Home

B&WTease

A few days ago, Seraphim bought herself the amazing mansion you see behind her. In order to even have somewhere to put it, let alone have the prims she needed to really go nuts setting it up as her new home, she had to dismantle years of construction and landscaping, which gave her around 1500 prims to play with…

B&WTease2

… she loves her gorgeous new home, and has spent the last few days moving her stuff into the ground floor, and has just started on the second floor… the ground floor is just the initial, fairly quick placing of basic goodies, she knows she’ll be tweaking it for ever, but, you have to start somewhere…

B&WTease3a

… setting up her still-life projects has been excellent preparation for such a major piece of decorating… in fact, it was setting up her last shoot that made her decide it would be nice to live in a beautiful, mesh home, with soft lines and curves, as apposed to the industrial-style places she’s always built herself, because she doesn’t know how to make mesh…

B&WTease4

… as she moves all her stuff from her old home, she will dismantle it… it will be the end of an era, for Seri, she’s lived in that building, in it’s various incarnations, for eight years…

B&WTease5

… but, once she gets into ‘moving on’ mode, she doesn’t look back.

Chuanghu

Chuanghu

Yesterday, Seraphim visited Chuanghu (Windows), a beautiful, greyscale installation described as ‘an architectural installation in the style of ink wash’…

Chuanghu2

… it’s a reasonably large, suitably confusing space, where you are invited to wander about and find various places where you can ‘sit’…

Chuanghu3

… Seraphim suspects this space wouldn’t appeal to the vertiginously challenged, as you are basically wandering around in midair, feeling like you should be falling…

Chuanghu4

… Seri found some of ‘sits’, but most of them were far too comical for her to photograph herself in and still feel any degree of sophisticated composure… she felt they didn’t match the elegance of the work, as though the artist’s 7 year old daughter had chosen the poses…

Chuanghu5

… but she really enjoyed wandering amongst (some are phantom, some not) the lush, ink-like objects/patterns/strokes…

Chuanghu6

… there’s a little gallery/store, at the landing point, where you can buy some of the work you see inside the installation.
