Today, when I had nothing to do, and nowhere to go, Veyot asked me if I wanted to submit a ‘car picture’ to an upcoming exhibition she was curating for Xaraz Gallery. I scrounged through my inventory, trying to find something suitable… I actually got second place in an ‘autoerotica’ photo competition, several years ago, but, when I pulled that image up, it was just too embarrassing… not because there was nudity in it, because there was none (mine was the only entrant that didn’t contain nudity/near-nudity, or blatant sex, which was why I was very surprised to even get second place)… no, it was embarrassing because it was me, pre-mesh!… so, I thought ‘fuck it, I’ll just shoot something, now’…
… I was feeling pretty playful, so just went with that feeling…
… going for something I don’t normally aim for…
… just silly and dramatic…
… I had a great time!…
… synchronistically, I had just rediscovered this wonderful photo-sim at Ison, so knew exactly where to find a sweet auto to play around (:
One of my favourite SL clothing brands is the eponymously named Belzebubble…
… whose super-cute logo is a back-the-front B, back-to-back with a B, and the B’s have little devil horns…
… her clothing is clearly not aimed at people who dress like me, more the ‘Barbie-bimbo’ crowd, it has very bright colours, most of which I don’t actually like because they are too bright, but I love the white, black and the pink, which is one of the prettiest pinks in SL. All her stuff comes with wonderful HUD’s that give you a really good range of options. I love her entire brand collateral, it is totally consistent, bright and cute, her advertising panels are like frames from a comic…
… her gear has gorgeous fabric textures…
… but what I love about all her stuff is that it fits my Maitreya Lara Petite body perfectly, almost BOM-perfectly. Because of that excellent fit, it goes under a wide range of clothes that I wear. I often wear BB gear under my jackets…
… and when I’m wearing little short skirts, my BB Alpha Panties are a must. In this set, though, I’m wearing my new ‘Kioke’ bodysuit, so I don’t need the Alphas. The thing that totally makes the BB brand, for me, though, is dealing with Belzebubble herself, when you have problems or questions, she always replies to requests for help, and she’s always lovely. I’ve never met her, but I really like her. That’s why I’m doing this little Belzebubble post, as a way of saying ‘thanks’ for your wonderful customer service, Belzebubble (:
Following my visit, yesterday, to Memento Mori, with Witchy, I have become slightly obsessed with the place, and came back to spend the kind of time you can only spend alone, here, which is different to the time spent showing a friend around…
… but it was the lovely time spent here with Witchy that piqued my interest, here. She had wondered what was below this build, something I’d never bothered to find out. As I’ve recently said, here, I have an almost pathological aversion to being led… this causes me, or has done, till just recently, to automatically dismiss unsolicited notices that pop up in my HUD, or anywhere else, for that matter, without even glancing at them. Because of this, I see places in SL through my own, uninformed filter, which has always suited me fine… but I’m realising I’ve missed out on a lot of important information because of my wilfulness. I had no idea, till today, that Chouchou is a group, a duo…
… a duo that is basically a piano and vocals. This explains the significance of the piano, here, in Memento Mori…
… they have several albums in iTunes, which I have been listening to whilst I sorted/edited the images for this post. While I was at Memento Mori I listened to the gorgeous music that plays here. That’s another thing I’ve never done, listened to the music streams in SL… I have extremely selective tastes, and seldom hear anything in the way of music selections that holds much interest for me, so I just never, in 11 years, listened to music streams here, once I realised I found most of them too dull. So, last evening with Witchy, was the first time I’d listened to the music, here, which is totally part of the experience, silly Seri!…
… the music, and the stunning complexity of the architecture, here, is a kind of meditation experience, it’s very easy to just let go and be delighted…
… before I came back here, this morning, I checked out the other Chouchou sims/builds, all delightful and, not surprisingly, well patronised…
… I think they all, as with this place, have a special HUD you can wear that gives you a cinematic view of what you are seeing. I found that view very acceptable, but, as it didn’t translate into my photo’s, and was kind of slow and awkward, I didn’t use it for more than a few minutes… but, at least I tried it, which I flatly would not have done, even yesterday…
… so, coming here, yesterday, with Witchy, has proved a kind of epiphany for me…
… perhaps not quite a spiritual experience, although this place sure brings those kind of feelings out, but definitely a reframing of my SL experience. I managed to get up on this staircase with a bit of athleticism that defied the ‘no fly’ rules, here, to be able to look all the way down to the piano…
… the only aspect of this build I don’t like is the odd glow on the bell, but, hey, the rest is amazing.
A few days ago, Seraphim bought herself the amazing mansion you see behind her. In order to even have somewhere to put it, let alone have the prims she needed to really go nuts setting it up as her new home, she had to dismantle years of construction and landscaping, which gave her around 1500 prims to play with…
… she loves her gorgeous new home, and has spent the last few days moving her stuff into the ground floor, and has just started on the second floor… the ground floor is just the initial, fairly quick placing of basic goodies, she knows she’ll be tweaking it for ever, but, you have to start somewhere…
… setting up her still-life projects has been excellent preparation for such a major piece of decorating… in fact, it was setting up her last shoot that made her decide it would be nice to live in a beautiful, mesh home, with soft lines and curves, as apposed to the industrial-style places she’s always built herself, because she doesn’t know how to make mesh…
… as she moves all her stuff from her old home, she will dismantle it… it will be the end of an era, for Seri, she’s lived in that building, in it’s various incarnations, for eight years…
… but, once she gets into ‘moving on’ mode, she doesn’t look back.
Yesterday, Seraphim received an update from Djehan Kidd, the creator of Hangars Liquides, that the Indiegogo campaign, set up to raise the money to pay LL labs so they won’t delete it from their servers, has reached 57%, thus allowing Hangars Liquides to pay a 3000 Euro payment, forestalling that deletion for the time being…
… Seraphim is delighted that this fabulous place isn’t going to vanish any time soon, the loss of it would leave only a few equally unique, stunning works of environmental genius in SL, especially on this scale…
… Seraphim zapped over, today, to inhale the industrial smells, and listen to the cyberpunk ambience…
… she is proud of herself for making what was, for her, a fairly significant donation, one she thought about for several days, in the end deciding she had to put her money where her heart was… she would never have forgiven herself if she’d sat by, hoping other, wealthier people, would save one of her favourite places in SL…
… standing here, today, she’s very pleased she didn’t do nothing.
