Little Dancer

LittleDancer

Seraphim was in Coghaven, this morning, putting up some images from her latest shoot with Luna, when she realised she could faintly hear what sounded like Japanese pop music, something she hadn’t heard in Coghaven, before. She followed the sound to a stage/ampitheatre, where she saw a little Rikugou…

LittleDancer2a

… named Lyralia. Lyralia was dancing to the pop music…

LittleDancer3

… Seraphim was enchanted. She finds Rikugou’s incredibly attractive because of their cute, anime faces, fabulous bodies and gorgeous detail…

LittleDancer4

… but she’d never seen one dancing, before. She watched, delighted, until the little dancer finished, and TP’d away…

LittleDancer5

… Seri is smaller than a lot of avatars, and Rikugou’s tend to be even tinier than Seri, which just makes them more adorable to her…

LittleDancer6

… a tiny, dancing Rikugou is about as adorable as it gets…

LittleDancer7

… it’s hard to get good pictures of a dancer, due to the very nature of a photo being a split-second freeze-frame of continuing action; beautiful, sinuous motion does not look quite the same when taken out of context in a split-second freeze-frame…

LittleDancer8

… Seri took 450 such frames, which she reduced to these 8, that she feels manage to slightly convey the delightful encounter she had with a little dancing Rikugou, this morning.

Seated Seri

Seraphim decided to do a post of her sitting in some of her favourite places…

… her most favourite place is her apartment. Her apartment represents years of refining her own SL private space, and has all her favourite stuff in it. It’s the only invitation-only area in Placeboland, a place where Seri feels very safe…

… next, she visited Tee’s apartment in Eisa… as usual, these days, Tee was not there… even Mannequin was not there… Seri sat and took in the lush, lonely opulence…

… then, while she was in Eisa, she visited her favourite chair in the Eisa Mainstore lounge. Her favourite pose in that chair is called ‘New Shoes!’…

… then she came home, and sat behind her desk in New Placebo Gallery…

… then in front of it…

… then in one of the several comfy viewing chairs in the gallery. All these places, of course, reminded Seri of the two companions she now seldom sees. She feels that, once again, change is coming. She feels that way, because she can no longer stand still, hoping things will return to how they were, because she knows they won’t. She’s not sure what is going to change, she just knows something is.

Two Places

Seraphim has just visited two totally different, picturesque places…

twoPlaces

… the first was ‘The Last Forever’, one of those Wyeth-painting-like sims, with vast, empty horizons and dust-dry, burnt-brown colouring…

twoPlaces2

… where everything is dead, or dying, derelict, and decaying, the water is shallow, stagnant, and dirty…

twoPlaces3

… the sky is tainted by the dead land, dust-laden and empty…

twoPlaces4

… only the toughest, most ancient plants thrive. The dry wind blew through her thoughts as the lone, alien traveller, wandered this landscape…

twoPlaces5

… the second place she visited, was ‘Sol Existence’, a place of lush, moist growth, where the predominant colours were greens, mixed with explosions of floral colours, the skies blue, and filled with sea-birds, the breeze fresh, and salt-laden…

twoPlaces6

… the dwellings, though ancient, were very much alive and in use, beautifully cared for and obviously loved…

twoPlaces7

… an alien wanderer could feel the strength of green things thriving, smell the pines and hear the sea-birds…

twoPlaces8

… and soak up the power, and depth, of the eternal ocean.

Eisa Views

Eisa is a colony on the edge of the galaxy…

EisaViews

… it is the home of Nanite Systems…

EisaViews2

… the corporation who bring us NS gynoids, in all their splendid and strange variety…

EisaViews3

… it is a place where the sex industry, coupled with artificial ‘companions’, has found a new zenith…

EisaViews4

… a place of stunning architecture, and technology, placed, seemingly comfortably, amongst the alien biosphere…

EisaViews5

… where the technology keeps the bugs out, and the neon burning bright…

EisaViews6

… and the colonists seem to spend most of their time inside…

EisaViews7

… in the pursuit of pleasure…

EisaViews8

… ignoring the alien world they inhabit. What could go wrong?

SL15B Builds

Amongst all the hysterical, candy-coloured, crystal encrusted, boring sameness of the SL15B installations, Seraphim has found a few genuinely creative, unique builds…

SL15B

… in order to find these gems, Seraphim has clawed her way through hours of lag, so bad it basically made her want to kill herself, and, on the ground, caused her to constantly fall into extremely irritating canals, and in the air, caused her to constantly crash into walls…

SL15B2

… it was always a relief from the hysterical cacophony of Disney-cartoon-esqe colours, bland builds and appalling profusion of crystals, to find thoughtful displays, with few crystals and no rainbow explosions of colour…

SL15B3

… and with displays that consisted of more than some pictures on a board, and actually drew her in and engaged her interest…

SL15B4

… she found this one, to be particularly evocative…

SL15B5

… and futuristically monumental…

SL15B6

Pictures of Kowloon

Seraphim has long enjoyed the cluttered, grungy, neon spectacle that is Kowloon…

kowloon

… but recent posts by her friends, Veyot, and Pearl Grey, have re-kindled her interest in the place, and she has, of course, been keeping a visual record…

kowloon2

… Kowloon is the epitome of squalid, grunge-encrusted decay, mixed with the dazzling splendour of neon, and the fascinating appeal of Asian calligraphy/signage …

kowloon3

… it is a place of claustrophobic spaces, gloom and shadow…

kowloon5

… a photographers paradise…

kowloon6

… as the gloom is punctuated by beautiful neon signs, and bright lights…
