Another Fairy Tale

FairyTale

Seraphim visited ‘Another Fairy Tale‘, this evening… Cica Ghost seems to be really smashing them out, lately…

FairyTale2

… the colours are really beautiful, with that sub-aquatic lighting that Cica Ghost seems to favour…

FairyTale3

… whimsical critters in pools of light…

FairyTale4

… and plants that look as though Salvador Dali and Hieronymus Bosch designed them together, one night, after they’d both taken acid…

FairyTale5

… the only thing Seraphim disliked were the ugly little, flying face creatures, which seemed always to bomb her carefully setup shots, just as she was about to take a picture… she actually had to photoshop out the one that invaded this picture.

Whale Graveyard

WhaleGraveyard

During her weekend SL perambulations, this morning, Seraphim found a small, flying whale graveyard…

WhaleGraveyard2

… three of those flying whales that were so trendy a year or so ago (Seraphim has one, too!) were dead on the ground, somehow turned to stone…

WhaleGraveyard3

… inert, and overgrown…

WhaleGraveyard4

… a town had sprung up around them, no doubt capitalising on this incredibly haunting place.

100 Levels!

Finished100

The 100 Levels project recently achieved it’s goal…

Finished100a

… Magnum Yoshikawa announced the building would stay up until the 22 of March, so there’s still time to go to Kowloon and see this wonderful, collaborative construction piece… Seraphim found that the last 20 floors seemed to be a bit bland, like people had run out of ideas, but she still found a few she quite liked…

Finished100a1

… they tended to be fairly whimsical…

Finished100a1a

… Seraphim likes whimsy…

Finished100a1a1

… she popped into her own unit, to check on her hedgehogs, and make sure they were ok spending a few more weeks here… they were fine, spending the day snoozing on the bench, and the night snuffling in the grass for bugs… they also still enjoyed the view, and didn’t even mind the eccentric, French music.

Shadow

Seraphim has known Shadow as long as she’s known Pandume… Shadow and Pandume are a couple…

Shadow2

… Shadow is extremely shy, and is, in fact, a shadow… for a long time, Seraphim only ever saw her lurking, literally, in the shadows, a black, unclothed shadow…

Shadow3

… Seraphim slowly, cautiously, initiated conversation with her, and the two slowly became friends, Seraphim delighting in discovering Shadow was actually very friendly…

Shadow4

… Seri was checking out Pandume’s castle, this morning, when she saw that Shadow was there, hidden in a secret place… Seri said ‘Hello (:’, and the two got talking, eventually, Seri took Shadow (who was actually clothed, and had discernible features) to see her installation at the cafe, in Wyrd…

Shadow5

… Shadow loved it (:

Little World

Seraphim visited ‘Little World‘, today. Little World has several distinct areas…

LW2

… a beach area, with a horizon of glittering sky-scrapers…

LW3

… a very nice grunge/neon area…

LW4

… the avi on the bus-stop roof just stood and watched Seraphim, turning to follow her as she passed. Seri didn’t bother saying ‘hi’… sometimes, she’s just not in the mood, and, of course, the other avi never said a word…

LW5

… the neon/grunge area is very pretty. Once you traverse that, there is…

LW6

… gorgeously textured urban architecture…

LW7

… Seri has seen these buildings in other builds, but they still look beautiful, here…

LW8

… she spent a good hour, here, and took 173 photos. Little World would make a wonderful set for an urban story, even one with a scifi element, given the neon strip and the glittering cityscape on the horizon.

Lost Town

LostTown09072018_0001

Today, Seraphim visited Lost Town-La Citta’ Perduta. She hasn’t been here for a long time, possibly years. When she first visited here, she saw it as the setting for the kind of trendy, dull SL ‘art’ photos she has no interest in, and does not do. Trendy SL artists have zero interest in Seraphim’s photography. Seraphim, whose human has a degree with honours in Computer Graphic Design, knows her photography is at LEAST as good as theirs, but the SL ‘artists’ convince the SL punters that theirs is the ‘real’ art. On Seraphim’s previous visits to this place, she wrote it off as a backdrop for trendy wanker photography. It was the textures/lighting of the above image she first saw, here, so she never really looked any further…

LostTown09072018_0002

… she totally missed all this aurora-type lighting…

LostTown09072018_0003

… and crisp background elements…

LostTown09072018_0004

… she has to admit, she shouldn’t have written the place off, just because she loathes what passes for ‘art’ photography in SL…

LostTown09072018_0005

… she thinks she got some nice shots.

Russia

Today, Seraphim visited Russia…

Russia2

… she found a beautiful sim straight out of her human’s dreams…

Russia3a

… not because the human has ever been to Russia, but because the human often dreams about these kinds of wonderful, empty, earlier-time, nostalgic streets…

Russia4

… there are gorgeous perspective lines everywhere…

Russia5a

… wonderful old cars and communist-style architecture…

Russia6

… which includes gorgeous interiors…

Russia7

… there are derelict vehicular hulks everywhere…

Russia8

… Seri had to climb a lot of fences to get these shots. She worried about being sprung by zealous Russian thugs… worried, not because she was scared, but because she’s over killing mortals, and dreaded having to slaughter dozens of mindless soldier puppets… just as she would in any American facility.

Pandume at Last Drop

PanniAtLastDrop

Seraphim took Pandume to visit her Last Drop Cafe installation, today…

PanniAtLastDrop2

… she hadn’t told Pandume that Pandume’s portrait was on the wall. Pandume was delighted…

PanniAtLastDrop3

… Pandume also liked how cosy Seraphim had made the cafe, particularly liking the worn old couch…

PanniAtLastDrop4

… this made Seri happy, because she had gone for a worn, cosy feel to the place…

PanniAtLastDrop5

… the two friends curled up on the couch…

PanniAtLastDrop6

… and chatted beneath the beneficent gaze of Pandume’s portrait.

Sol Existence

SolEx

Seraphim went back to Sol Existence, this morning. She visited here about 18 months ago, but didn’t really spend a lot of time here. She remembered it’s windswept, island-in-the-sea aspect, so she rugged up in thick wool before she went…

SolEx2

… she found these guys pretty cute…

SolEx3

… but these stone buildings just blow her mind…

SolEx4

… especially this one…

SolEx5

… the detail and texturing are exquisite…

SolEx6

… some of the most beautifully made buildings she’s ever seen in SL…

SolEx7

… the sim builder/s had seen fit to park a huge, cheesy balloon right next to the far side of this gorgeous building, which ruled out any decent shot from that angle, and the one from this angle took a fair bit of manoeuvring in order to exclude the balloon’s cartoonish bulk… but Seri is pleased with the result.

85 Levels

Seraphim visited the ‘100 Levels’ project, today, to see how it’s going… there are now 85! These are her faves from the newest ones. She really likes the one above… it’s the only upside down one, such a cool concept… even the wall with the door is upside down, though she didn’t think to see how that worked at the back, with the stairs… she suspects it didn’t…

85a

… this one made her laugh out loud… if it has any specific meaning, she’s not sure what it is, but it’s delightful, anyway…

85a1

… this one, also, made her laugh… if you follow the absurdity of highbrow ‘art’, you’ll know all about this particular ‘artwork’… Seraphim loves the intelligence of seeing it re-purposed in this project…

85a1a

… this one, and the one below, are just gorgeous, richly textured whimsy…

85a1a1

… there are so many clever people in SL (:
